TAPIT is a professional organization for interpreters and translators of written, spoken and signed languages in Tennessee. Among Tapit's members are experts in diverse specialties and professional fields such as judicial, medical and other technical fields.
The creation of such an organization could not have come at a better time. Professional interpretation and translation facilitates communication for Tennessee's businesses and governmental agencies, as well as their peers and clients all over the world.
Professional interpretation and translation bridges gaps, breaks down language barriers, and helps to ensure effective communication between Tennesseans with and without English proficiency, in the public and private sectors.
TAPIT especially encourages the participation of sign language interpreters.
