Announcement: We are excited to announce the 2008 6th annual TAPIT Conference to be held September 12-14, 2008 on the campus of Belmont University in Nashville, TN. This year, we are pleased to announce that if you attend all 3 days of the conference, you will fulfill the three-year requirement for general and foreign language credits!
There will also be be twice as many exhibitors, including veterans, Intrans Book Service and Tennessee Foreign Language Institute, plus many newcomers such as interpreter equipment supplier TN Communications.
Sign Language Interpreters may receive CEU credit from TRID. TRID is an Approved RID CMP Sponsor for Continuing Education Activities. These PS & GS programs are offered for up to 0.6 CEUs at the “Little/None” & “Some” Content Knowledge Level. For more information please visit www.tnrid.org

LOCATION INFORMATION For the Conference
The main sessions are on the 4th floor of the Massey Business Center (MBC) Board Room. Concurrent sessions are across from it in Room 414.

In the above Parking and Quick facts .pdf file, you will see that the Massey Business Center is No. 6; it faces Wedgewood Ave. The closest parking garage in No. 9 in the parking map. But you can also park in the Curb Event Center Parking Garage on Bernard Ave. It is No. 17.
If you stay at one of the 3 hotels we used, they have free shuttles that will take you from hotel to the Conference and back.
To ask questions, or discuss the upcoming conference, also, to facilitate car-pooling for the Conference, register on the list-serv and you will automatically get all messages to your e-mail account.

TAPIT is a professional organization for interpreters and translators of written, spoken and signed languages in Tennessee. Among Tapit's members are experts in diverse specialties and professional fields such as judicial, medical and other technical fields.
The creation of such an organization could not have come at a better time. Professional interpretation and translation facilitates communication for Tennessee's businesses and governmental agencies, as well as their peers and clients all over the world.
Professional interpretation and translation bridges gaps, breaks down language barriers, and helps to ensure effective communication between Tennesseans with and without English proficiency, in the public and private sectors.
TAPIT especially encourages the participation of sign language interpreters.
